When you wipe the home environment, do you clean those things? Usually, as long as it is a woven material, we will behave in a habit, but according to cleaning experts, some things do not require such frequent cleaning. If some fabrics and materials are washed too frequently, they will begin to decompose and harm the structure, touch and integrity of the item; therefore, we have to find a perfect balance between cleaning and preservation.

According to cleaning experts, the following four items in the home are most likely things that the public will wash their heads.

Experts point out that towels are the most frequently over-cleaned household items, especially bath towels. "Although I want to clean the towels every time I use them, this will reduce the softness of the towels and make the fiber age quickly," said Lina DaSilva, founder of Toronto Shine Cleaning in Ontario, Canada.

DaSilva suggested that the towels be cleaned three to four times, but only if they are dried every time they are used up.

Blanket

Another household item that is often over-cleaned is a blanket; although the blanket is very useful, over-cleaning will cause stiffness and tightness, making the blanket no longer soft and comfortable.

Katie Lambert, founder of Clean Queen, a home cleaning company in Denver, Colorado, suggested that people can clean blankets every three to four weeks, without washing them every week, depending on their usage.

Bed sheets

Bed sheets are not cleaned every week; experts point out that excessive frequent cleaning of beds will greatly shorten their life.

"We usually act like to wash the bed once a week, but unless we get dirty or get sick, it is usually enough to extend the cleaning frequency to once every two weeks," Dasilva noted.

DaSilva also suggested cleaning the bed sheet with a gentle natural wash, which can help keep the bed sheet clean for a longer time and protect the integrity of the precision fiber.

Denim fabric

Denim fabric will wear and fade with time, and is loved by everyone; however, excessive cleaning of denim fabric will accelerate the wear and fade process, and will lead to fragility in the fabric and make the shape of the fabric change. Once this happens, this piece of denim fabric will be useless.

DaSilva pointed out that unless there is obvious dirt or odor, denim products should be worn five to ten times and then cleaned; she even suggested that small dirt can be cleaned in between two washes.
