China Longxin released the 3C6000 series processor, called "not relying on any overseas supply chain". It is a new general-purpose processor developed and controlled by China, meeting the needs of multiple scenarios such as general computing, intelligent computing, storage, industrial control, and workstations.
According to Chinese media reports, the Longxin 3C6000 series processors include three models: LS3C6000/S, LS3C6000/D and LS3C6000/Q. This series of processors adopts the Longxin autonomous instruction architecture and is based on the LA664 architecture core, and the general performance is doubled compared with the previous generation. The performance of 3C6000 is comparable to the standard of mainstream products in the market in 2023 or 2024.The single silicon chip of the dragon core has 16 cores and 32-wire, with a frequency of 2.0~2.2GHz, and at the same time it has 32MB high-speed cache (LLC), supports four 72-bit memory channels, and has multiple PCIe 4×16 / 8 interfaces. The IO performance is improved compared to the previous generation 3C5000 index.
Using NVLink-like dragon chain technology, it can be connected between wafers, dual silicon packaging is 3C6000/D (3D6000), with 32 cores and 64 threads; four silicon packaging is 3C6000/Q (3E6000), with 60/64 cores and 120/128 threads.
Longxin pointed out that Longlink technology is used to connect computing power, cracking the Chiplet key core can significantly reduce delay and improve frequency efficiency.
In terms of performance, the 16-core 3C6000/S performance can be as good as the Intel third-generation Xeon Silver 4314 processor; the 32-core 3C6000D is the Xeon Gold 6338 processor; the 64-core 3C6000/Q is more as good as the Xeon Platinum 8380 level.
Hu Weiwu, a researcher at the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and General Designer of Longxin, said that starting from the Longxin 3C6000 series, the price ratio of the Longxin will gradually replace autonomy and become the main reason for choosing Longxin CPU.
This time there is also a Longxin 2K3000 / 3B6000 processor, which also adopts an independent instruction architecture, providing bottom-level support for smart endpoints and industrial control applications.
Hu Weiwu believes that the performance is excellent under the premise of full use of performance, and Chinese CPUs can move towards open market competition. Whether it is for national information industry or for Longxin, it is a new turnover.
