Foreign media pointed out that Samsung Electronics announced the group's first half of the year's target award (TAI). TAI will pay once every six months, and can earn up to 100% of the monthly basic salary and a minimum of zero. The amount depends on the performance performance of each department. The performance of the Crystal OEM department is too poor, and the first half of the year's bonus is directly zero.
Foreign media pointed out that the performance bonus of Samsung's Semiconductor Business and Device Solutions Department (DS) in the first half of this year was 0~25%, because the high-frequency wide memory (HBM) market response was not as good as competitors, and the NAND flash memory market was bad, resulting in a decline in overall industry performance.
According to different business plans, the memory department won 25%, the system LSI department won 12.5%, the semiconductor research center department won 12.5%, and the crystal foundry department was 0. The TAI release date is July 8. However, Samsung DS Business Department's high-level business department has decided to return TAI to demonstrate its determination to improve management performance.
Samsung DS Business Department has earned the highest TAI every time from 2015 to the first half of 2022, that is, its monthly basic salary is 100%; but since the second half of 2022, due to the improvement of performance, the TAI has been reduced. In the second half of 2023, the DS Business Department TAI was the lowest in the year, with the memory department being 12.5%, and the OEM department and the system LSI department directly slack. However, the market situation was good, and gradually rebounded to 37.5%~75% in the first half of last year.
In the second half of 2024, due to the low base period in the previous period, the performance bonus reached 200%, the highest in history. However, the profits of flash memory in the first half of this year were malfunctioning, as well as the loss of OEM and system LSI business, the bonus was greatly reduced.
As for other business departments, the Equipment Experience (DX) business department, the Visual Display (VD) department and the Digital Home Appliance Business Department respectively won 37.5% and 50% respectively; the Galaxy S25 series sold strongly in the first quarter, and the Mobile Experience (MX) department won the highest 75%. The medical equipment business department also earned 75%, and the online business department earned 50%.
Samsung Mada Business Department, the parts department earned 100%, and the packaging solution department earned 75%. Parts Department TAI seems to reflect the main products such as Samsung's expansion vehicle application multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), and all departments have the highest sales volume.
Samsung Display Business Department, small and medium-sized IT panel units earn 100%, and large panels (such as TVs) departments earn 75%.
