According to foreign media reports, Qualcomm has confirmed the launch of the long-reported data center CPU and will cooperate with AI cloud-based facility planning supported by the Saudi Arabian country. Currently, the company has confirmed in a press release that it has signed a revision record with HUMAIN, a newly established joint venture supported by the Saudian Arab Public Investment Fund (PIF).

According to Tom’s Hardware's report, Qualcomm's cooperation with Saudian Arab represents that Qualcomm's official return to the data center CPU market after a failed development in the past. Qualcomm had developed the Centriq Data Center processor in 2017, but later canceled the project in 2019. However, after later purchasing the new creation company Nuvia, the company is designing a data center processor with Arm architecture, which Qualcomm plans to reuse the technology on a Windows-based Snapdragon processor.

Qualcomm and HUMAIN AI said that both parties will cooperate to develop next-generation artificial intelligence data centers, including basic facilities and cloud-to-side services. Specifically, Qualcomm said it intends to develop and build advanced artificial intelligence data centers in Sayudi Arabia, and will adopt Qualcomm's edge and data center solutions to provide local and international customers with efficient and expandable cloud-to-edge hybrid artificial intelligence inference solutions.

Qualcomm notes that it will also develop and provide state-of-the-art data center CPU and AI solutions for HUMAIN's data center, and leverage Snapdragon and Dragonwing processors to speed up the use of infrastructure. As part of the agreement, Qualcomm will also establish a Qualcomm design center in Saudian Arabia for the development of semiconductor technology.

Qualcomm President and Executive Director Cristiano Amon said that Qualcomm is excited to cooperate with HUMAIN to support its goal of becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence. Qualcomm also poached Sailesh Kottapalli, former chief architect of Intel Xeon server processors earlier in 2025, suggesting a plan to start the server CPU. During his tenure at Intel, Sailesh Kottapalli was responsible for the development of processors such as x86, Itanium and multi-generation Xeon.
