Former referee: Hall is completely nonsense for getting a yellow card for a quick free kick, and a very bad law enforcement
In Everton's 1-2 loss to Liverpool away, former Premier League referee Mark Hassel believed that Hall was "nonsense" to get a yellow card because of his quick free kick.
Everton midfielder Hall was yellow card by referee Darren England in the 78th minute because the referee thought he took a free kick too quickly. Everton was behind Liverpool 1-2 at the time and he tried to quickly pass the ball to Gralish.
However, surprisingly, the referee didn't buy it, which made Hall feel unbelievable. Head coach Moyes also smiled incredible on the sidelines because of this decision, and Gralish expressed dissatisfaction with the penalty after the game.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, 64-year-old Hassel expressed sympathy for Everton. He said: "The yellow card Hall received when he played against Liverpool is totally nonsense. He was warned by referee Darren England for quickly driving a free kick in the game. This is a bad management and enforcement of international referees."
"I fully understand why Moyes and Everton players are confused about this incident. The referee should keep the game going. If he is not satisfied with the position of the ball, or the ball is moving, or he is not ready himself, then he should blow the whistle and ask the player to re-tele."
Gallish received a yellow card after complaining about the referee after the final whistle. He told TNT Sports: "We failed to score the last goal, and the second half is very frustrating. They sometimes try to slow down the pace of the game. I have never seen a player be yellow carded for quickly taking a free kick. ”
"I don't know where this rule comes from, and even the stoppage time is only three minutes and one minute. I have never seen this in the Premier League in the past two or three years. I am very disappointed with the referee. Sometimes you want the game to go smoothly, and I fully understand this, but he can't help but give us a chance. The opponent's defender hit the ground and he fouled, and two seconds later we didn't give it."
"When I came to these stadiums, the audience was putting pressure on me, and I think the referee would be affected in this situation. Hall now has four yellow cards, one of which is because of a quick free kick. We want to resume the game as soon as possible because we are behind."
Moyes added: "Every time I get a quick free kick, I'm stopped, and I ended up getting a yellow card because of it. I think it's incredible."
