Belgian media Nieuwsblad reported that Amadou Onana could not buy size 47 sneakers in Kazakhstan, so in the end, employees of the Belgian Football Association had to fly to deliver shoes to him.

Before the start of the game on the artificial turf stadium in Astana, Amadou Onana ordered a pair of new sneakers through the Adidas brand, but the problem was that the delivery was too late, so the Villa player had to take the old sneakers on the plane, and these shoes were not suitable for use on artificial turf.

At the same time, the national team also activated Plan B, and a new round of orders was sent to Belgium’s stay in Kazakhstan, the St. Regis Hotel in Astana. But until the day before the game, the express delivery had not been delivered.

Immediately, the national team launched Plan C and purchased sneakers at a local sports store in Astana. A delegation from the Belgian Football Association visited five stores without success. It turned out that Amadou Onana needed size 47 sneakers, and this size was nowhere to be found in the city.

In desperation, Belgium had no choice but to adopt Plan D. On Friday morning, the package containing the sneakers finally arrived in Belgium. Then a Football Association staff member took a flight to Kazakhstan and delivered the sneakers to Amadou Onana.

Miguel Kapilja, who played for Beveren and Kortrijk from the late 1990s to the beginning of this century, took on this urgent task. As the manager of the national indoor football team and the U17 representative team, he had to transfer to Astana via Istanbul because there was no direct flight. On Saturday morning, he arrived at the same time as an urgent package of sneakers that needed to be delivered to his Astana hotel, and just like that, Amadou Onana went from having no shoes to wearing two pairs of sneakers.
