According to British media talkSPORT, West Ham pursues Liverpool midfielder Elliott, but is unable to pay the Reds 40 million pounds for asking price.

West Ham has held talks with Liverpool on Elliott. It is understood that the asking price of the Reds over £40 million may be too high for West Ham. The newly appointed director of signing Kyle Macaulay has begun to formulate a list of alternative candidates.

It is reported that these candidates include Liverpool midfielder Taylor Morton and Manchester City midfielder McCarthy, but the latter prefers to transfer abroad.

West Ham is also interested in Chelsea midfielder Hall and Southampton midfielder Mattus Fernandez.

Leipzig and Newcastle were also interested in Elliott. Elliott performed amazingly in the just-concluded U21 European Youth Championship. He scored 5 goals in 6 games, including a goal against Germany in the final, helping England's U21 defend his title successfully.
