Bearded dog, therefore its name means a dog with a beard on its lips. Bearded dog is not a single species, it belongs to a kind of fur-covered dog among the small local dogs. Bearded dogs are widely distributed in Hunan, but the majority of the excellent breeds of bearded dogs are Liuyang, Xiangxi and Xuefengshan. Bearded dogs belong to the same ancestor and the famous Xiasi dog. The color of the bearded dog is different from that of Xiasi dogs. Xiasi dogs are single white, while bearded dogs have many colors, with yellow and red as the majority, and a very few are black, white and flowery.

Bearded dogs have a non-smooth beard on their mouth, and some have black spots on their tongues, but some do not, but black spots are preferred. The ears are erected in a triangle shape, and the tips of the ears are loose, which is also normal. The bearded dog has a big head and a thick mouth, a wide chest and thick back, a wide palm, a thick flesh pad, a tight front paw, and a lot of hair between the toes. The bearded dog's quilt is not smooth and divided into double layers, and the length is not dependent on the hair of the head and neck. The hair of the small tail is short and pointed, and it is curved upwards, but it is not curled, and it is hard and does not shake when walking. The bearded dog has a small and convenient body shape, and when walking, it happens to step on the footprint in the front.
