I have to know how to pet cats! Why do kittens suddenly hit you even though they are very comfortable?

When you sit in a quiet corner and caress the kitten with your gentle palms, have you ever been shocked by its sudden counterattack? I was obviously immersed in a pleasant atmosphere just now, why did the kitten suddenly hit you? It's like a fight between intimacy and independence, which is both surprising and interesting.

We need to understand this behavior of kittens. This is not that kittens are expressing dissatisfaction or attacking you, but that they are their nature. During the growth process, kittens will learn hunting skills and self-protection through interaction with female cats. When they feel threatened or uneasy, they take aggressive actions to protect themselves. This type of attack is usually manifested as sudden slap or biting. So, when you are petting a cat, the kitten may misunderstand that you are threatening it and thus reacting to an aggressive manner.

When petting a cat, the kitten may feel that your hand is its toy. Kittens love to play and they require a lot of exercise and stimulation to stay healthy. Therefore, when you caress the kitten, it may use your hand as its toy and start biting or slapping. This behavior is not that kittens are naughty or prank, but that they are enjoying the fun of playing.

The nerve and muscle systems of kittens are also in developmental stages, and their behavior may be driven by instincts and nervous systems. Sometimes, kittens may suddenly slap or bite people because they are overly excited or unable to control their behavior. This behavior decreases gradually as they grow and train.

We should also pay attention to the environment and emotions when petting cats. Sometimes, kittens may feel uneasy in an unsafe or stressful environment. For example, when you forcefully grab the kitten and start fucking it, it may feel uneasy and take aggressive behavior. In addition, if your cat petting skills make the kitten feel uncomfortable or painful, it may also express dissatisfaction with slap or bite.

How do we avoid this behavior of kittens? First, we need to create a safe and comfortable environment. Before petting your cat, make sure your hands and postures don't make the kitten feel threatened. You can gently caress the kitten's head and body to make it feel safe and comfortable. At the same time, avoid over-irritating the kitten to avoid being upset or excited.

Establish the correct interaction mode. When interacting with the kitten, try to avoid forcibly catching the kitten. Instead, you can wait for the kitten to come to you in a quiet and relaxed environment. When the kitten approaches you actively, you can stroke its head and body with gentle palms. If the kitten starts biting you or slapping you, don't stop stroking it immediately. Instead, you can continue to stroke it while gently massage the mouth and face with your fingers. This will relieve the kitten's uneasiness and help it understand your intentions.

Give the kitten enough toys and space for movement. Toys can help kittens consume excess energy and provide enough stimulation to keep them healthy. At the same time, providing kittens with enough space to play and exercise can also give them enough space. This helps the kitten stay healthy and reduces unnecessary aggressive behavior.

The fun of petting a cat and the kitten's "rebellion" are not irreconcilable contradictions. By understanding the behavioral and psychological characteristics of the kitten, creating a safe and comfortable environment, establishing the correct interaction mode, and giving enough toys and activity space to alleviate the kitten's uneasiness and maintaining intimate interactive relationships. Let’s enjoy the fun of petting cats together!
