According to Western media Defensacentral, Real Madrid president Florentino consulted Mbappe for his opinion on whether to introduce Konate or Yupa, and Mbappe said that both of them are among the best in the world.

The media stated that Alonso asked the club to strengthen the central defender position, and Real Madrid has listed Konate and Upamecano as priority candidates for defense reinforcement. Florentino recently consulted Mbappe because Mbappe played alongside the two in the national team and knows both of them very well.

Mbappé speaks highly of Konate and Upamecano within Real Madrid, and even believes that they are currently "the best players in the world in their respective positions."

The contracts of both players will expire at the end of this season, and Real Madrid needs to wait until January 1, 2026 before taking official action.
